Pe scurt:
Daca il cunosti suficient de bine pe Paul Simon incat sa-i asociezi usor chipul cu vocea, atunci probabil ca si pe tine te pufneste rasul atunci cand asculti Simon & Garfunkel. Nu spun ca muzica lor e una vesela - departe de mine aceast gand - numai ca, odata ce l-ai vazut pe Paul Simon in videoclipuri (de exemplu, in You Can Call Me Al unde apare impreuna cu Chevy Chase) sau in fotografii mai vechi, oricat de trista ar fi muzica lui, e greu sa-l mai iei in serios. Pentru mine, el e jumatatea mai buna din Simon & Garfunkel, asta si datorita carierei single pe care a avut-o in paralel...

Intre Paul Simon si Art Garfunkel a existat o dragoste cu nabadai. S-au despartit de mai multe ori (in '65 si in '69), reunindu-se apoi din cand in cand, o data la cativa ani, pentru un concert live sau un proiect comun. Dupa aproximativ o decada, in 2003, cei doi au interpretat impreuna The Sound of Silence in deschiderea premiilor Grammy. A urmat un turneu, intr-o prima faza doar prin Statele Unite, apoi si prin Europa, si un CD inregistrat live care a marcat un nou inceput pentru Simon & Garfunkel...

Mai mult ca The Sound of Silence, Mrs Robinson, Bridge Over Troubled Water sau El Condor Pasa (If I Could), mie imi place Homeward Bound, o melodie pe care Paul Simon se pare ca ar fi compus-o intr-o gara si care vorbeste despre viata lui in turneu si dorul sfasietor de casa...
